Since the early 1990’s Wes has done extensive research on many regions of the USA. For now, I will just make a simple list below, but will later come back and develop this list further and provide more details and insights as to the results of my research.

South Carolina

  2. I-85 corridor – Spartanburg, Greenville, Pickens, Anderson, Oconee – Old Pendleton District & County, Newberry, Laurens, Abbeville
  3. Coastal – Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester, Colleton
  4. Central – Orangeburg, Bamberg, Richland, Lexington

North Carolina

  1. Western NC counties of Buncombe, Haywood, Burke, Jackson, Cherokee, Macon, Clay, Yancey, Madison, Old Washington, Rutherford
  2. Piedmont NC counties of Rowan, Stokes, Forsyth, Surry, Yadkin, Wilkes – all of which are part of the Yadkin River Valley
  3. South-Central NC counties along SC border – Old Tryon, Mecklenburg, Union, Anson, Gaston, Lincoln
  4. Central NC counties of Chatham, Moore, Lee
  5. Eastern NC counties of Nash, Edgecombe, Halifax, Wilson

Georgia

  1. NE region – Rabun, Union, Fannin, Towns, Habersham, Hall, Franklin, Gilmer, Old Cherokee
